Carl E. Hawver, age 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 23, 2015 at the Hospice House of Citrus County and the Nature Coast. Carl was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Albert and Alma (Doering) Hawver.
In the early 1950’s, the family relocated to Tampa, FL. He proudly served our country and dedicated 22 years of his life to service in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Chief Petty Officer and Machinery Technichian. After his retirement, Carl owned a rental shop called CJ Tool in Connecticut, where he was very active in the community. In the 1990’s, he moved back to Florida. Carl was very patriotic and outspoken about his support for the conservative right. His hobbies were football and racing. Carl’s greatest pride was his red T-Bucket that he built and would often drive around Inverness. He was a member of the Hernando Church of the Nazarene.
Carl is survived by his loving wife of eight years, Barbara; his son, Tyson Hawver of Plainfield, CT; his daughter, Christina Hawver of Biminge, MN; and granddaughter, Katrina Hawver. Private cremation arrangements are under the care of The Chas E. Davis Funeral Home. Burial will take place at a later date at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
