John C West Jr

JOHN C. WEST, Jr., age 81, Hernando, died August 17, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. John was born on September 2, 1933 in Ottumwa, IA to the late John C. West, Sr. and Cora (Jones) West. He proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. John was an executive Vice-President in banking, working at First and Ocean National Bank and Mechanics National Bank. John was a 32nd Degree Mason of Franklin Lodge #6 in Lebanon, NH and a member of the Shriner’s Bektash Temple. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing. After his retirement, he relocated from Newbury Port, MA to Citrus Hills where he and his wife have lived for the past 25 years. Left to treasure his memory is his wife of 61 years, Mary A. West; sons John C. West, III, Floral City, and Michael C. West, Hernando; his daughters Sherry Lynne West-Sizemore, Sanford, NC and Shirley L. Antonellis (husband-Dan), Hampton, NH; two brothers Ronny West, San Antonio, TX and James West (wife Marj), Mesa, AZ; several grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister Delores. A graveside service at Florida National Cemetery with military honors will be announced at a later date. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
