Roman (Ray) Siminski, 82, of Beverly Hills, Florida, passed away on July 17, 2015, after a brief illness.
Ray was born on September 1, 1932 in Utica, NY, the son of the late Peter and Cecilia Ruszczek Szymanski. He attended Utica schools. He retired from Utica State Hospital after more than 35 years of service. Ray enjoyed his retirement immensely. He traveled for a period of time including a stay in Alabama near his eldest son. He eventually settled down in Beverly Hills, Florida, where he met his partner and the light of his life, Carol Harrington. Together, they took frequent trips around the eastern part of the country, including Carol’s home state of West Virginia. Ray was meticulous in everything that he did, from remodeling his last home in Utica to manicuring his lawn in Beverly Hills. The work was always as perfect as he could get it. His tool shed was a page out of a magazine. In addition to his parents, Ray was predeceased by his brothers and sisters-in-laws, Joseph and Helen Szymanski, Walter and Stella Szymanski as well as his sister and brother-in-law Stella and Edward Siuta, and his granddaughter Terra Siminski. He is survived by his spouse, Carol, her sons and daughter-in-law, grandchildren, his brother and sister-in-law Thaddeus and Irene Siminski, son and daughter-in-law Robert and Shelly Siminski, son Raymond Siminski, daughters Mary Dean and Aileen Siminski, grandson Matthew Siminski, good friend and favorite chef Ursula Todd, many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. A special thanks to HPH Hospice in Lecanto, Florida, for their kind and compassionate care.
Arrangements for his cremation will be handled by Chas. E Davis Funeral Home with Crematory in Inverness, Florida. Interment will be at a later date at Tyler Mountain Memorial Gardens, Cross Lanes, West Virginia.
