Nancy E. Shaner, age 68, of Inverness, FL died June 1, 2016 while under the care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, Inverness. Nancy was born February 23, 1948 in Somerset, KY to Welda Bernice (Brown) Flynn and the late Kenneth G. Flynn.

She wore many professional hats throughout her lifetime including medical transcriptionist in the healthcare industry. Nancy made Citrus County her home 12 years ago after relocating from St. Petersburg, FL. A woman of faith, she was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Inverness. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, creating greeting cards, quilting and other crafts. Nancy was a talented painter and taught painting for a number of years. She was a member of the Warmth Ministry and a member of the Jo Woody Sunday School Class.

Those left to mourn her passing include her mother: Welda Herron of Dacula, GA; daughters: Sarah Fitts and her husband Mike of Inverness, FL, Tricia Schrope and her husband Robert R. Schrope IV of Aurora, IL; brother: Kenneth Flynn, Jr. and his wife April of Dacula, GA; sister: Christine Flynn of Denver, CO; three grandchildren: Amber Busto, Emaly Ferreira and Kaitlin Fitts; two great grandchildren and many wonderful and loyal friends. In addition to her father, Nancy was preceded in death by her son, Fred Scott Gunn on December 17, 1997.

A Memorial Service will be conducted Saturday, June 7th at 10:00 AM from the First Baptist Church of Inverness with Rev. Byron Brown officiating. Private cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
