Waldemar “Walter” Siller

Waldemar “Walter” Siller, 82, beloved husband of Doris, went to his heavenly home on May 28, 2015. He passed away peacefully in the presence of his family and under the care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast. Walter was born on June 12, 1932 in Poland and grew up in Germany, where he learned the art of fine furniture restoration. He came to the United States in 1958 and established his own business in South Florida restoring antiques. Walter loved the ocean and sailing, either as a crew member on racing boats or sailing his own boat. Walter had a loving heart and generous spirit, giving to others without having to be asked. He would frequently check in and spend time with elderly or ailing family members and neighbors to ensure that they were not alone. Walter himself struggled with many health complications over the years, during which he was cared for by his devoted wife Doris. His loss is mourned by her and by his two daughters: Elke Macartney (Jim) and Christine Langlois (John); three step-children: Debra Flanagan, Tim Flanagan and David Flanagan; three grandchildren: Katherine Ives (Jamie); Ryan Macartney and Eron Macartney; four step grandchildren and great grandchild, Olivia Ives. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Walter will be held on Monday, June 1st at 10:00 AM from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness. If friends so desire, memorial donations are requested to Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464 in lieu of flowers.
