Gwendolyn Snider

Gwendoyn Snider, age 82, Inverness, died April 20, 2015 under the loving care of her family and the Hospice of Citrus County and Nature Coast staff. Gwendolyn was born on May 7, 1932 in Bard, NM to the late Aaron Langford and Velma Ledessa (Smith) Martin. As a young bride, she worked in Texas as a ranch cook, serving up to 30-40 meals three times per day to working cowboys from various ranches. In addition to her joy of cooking, she enjoyed sewing. The oldest of ten children, by the age of eight, she was helping take care of her siblings and had married a local cowboy by the age 13, David C. Snider, Sr. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Marie Snider-Kuhn and her husband Kenneth, Lubbock, TX, Melanie Snider Foreman, Lebanon, MO, Sherri Snider-King, Inverness; sister Melinda Fay Martin Edwards, Nolan, OK and brothers Aaron Dwayne Martin and his wife Doylene, Portales, NM, Jerry Lee Martin, Midwest City, OK; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband David C. Snider, Sr., after 56 years of marriage, her son David C. Snider, Jr., a daughter Rowena Ledessa Smith; 5 brothers and one sister. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is assisting the family with private arrangements.
