Gilmore Marvin Cox, age 92, Inverness, died March 31, 2015 surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Hospice of Citrus County. Marvin was born on August 6, 1922 in Jamison, FL to the late Gilmore and Phoebe (Porter) Cox. He served our country in the United States Marine Corps during WWII, and graduated from Florida State University in 1950. Marvin was employed by Borden’s as head of the Accounting Dept., Southeast Division. He and his wife enjoyed camping and traveling, having seen most of the United States and also Europe. He was also known for his love of “tinkering” with things and even invented some products. A loving husband and father, he will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 67 years, Kathryn Cox; his sons William Irvin Cox, Castleton, NY and Marvin Roland Cox and his wife Birgitta, Grapevine, TX, a brother Irvin Cox, Quincy, FL along with many dear friends he has made throughout his travels. A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Rutland. Please consider donations to Hospice of Citrus County or First Baptist Church of Rutland in Marvin’s memory in lieu of flowers. Chas. E.
