Where Planning Is A Gift That Lives On

Richard L Hinde

Richard Leroy Hinde, age 62, Homosassa, died March 29, 2015 at his residence. Richard was born on July 25, 1952 in Key West, FL to the late Robert and Marjalee Hinde. Richard moved to Citrus County from Key West in the 1970’s and began building his reputation as one of the best local fishing captains. Spending over 20 years on the Apollo fishing boat charter, he became an expert on all the hot spots for grouper, mangrove, snapper, cobia and grunt. Winning and leading many tournaments and the respect of the local fishing community, he then ventured into his own charter business. Capt. Rich continued to build his fishing charter until 2010 when he was diagnosed with cancer, losing his ear. He thus lost his Captain’s license and reluctantly settled into retirement. Deep sea fishing was his passion, his life and the Gulf of Mexico his playground. He leaves behind his 2 sons, Richard Patrick Hinde of Hernando, FL and Michael Wayne Hinde of Hernando, along with 4 grandchildren. The family will celebrate his life with a private ceremony. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is assisting the family with private arrangements.
