Donald L Murphy

Donald L. Murphy, 82, Inverness, Florida passed away March 16, 2015 at Citrus Health & Rehab, Inverness. He was born in Iaeger, W. Virginia on July 15, 1932 to the late Blaine and Florence (Lester) Murphy. Donald was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and a long time new car sales manager for Holler Chevrolet in Winter Park, FL. He arrived in this area in 1997, coming from Maitland, Florida, and was a member of the Rutland Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, NASCAR, loved his tractor, and watching the W. Virginia Mountaineers play football; but most of all, he loved bluegrass gospel music. He was preceded in death by one brother, Verland “Buddy” Murphy. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Sylvia Murphy. Other survivors include daughters Vicki (Larry) Durden of Tavares, FL, and Stephanie Murphy of Eustis, FL; and one sister Wanda (Wayne) Kennedy of Columbus, OH. Funeral Services for Donald are scheduled for Friday, 11:00 A.M. at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, with the family receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service. Pastor Bill Johnson officiating. Burial with military honors will occur after the service at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL
