Mark M Marhevko

Mark Martin Marhevko, “Marko” age 56, Beverly Hills, died January 7, 2015 under the care of his loving family and Hospice of Citrus County. Mark was born on November 12, 1958 in Royal Oak, MI, the youngest son of John Markhevko, Jr. and Lottie (Gajos) Marhevko. Mark was a licensed funeral director and was employed by the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home for over 30 years. He enjoyed “everything Michigan” and would travel to Sioux St. Marie on his vacations. He was an avid historian of the Great Lakes, ships and boating accidents on the lakes and a member of the Great Lakes Captain’s Association, collecting ship memorabilia and lanterns. A gifted musician, he played the organ and could play many compositions by heart. He was an excellent welder and created many unusual and exquisite items that he gifted to family and friends. He also enjoyed the sport of target shooting and gunsmithing. Mark was the go-to-guy to fix anything that had a motor. If he could not fix it, then that particular item was certainly ready for the dumpster. He was generous with his time and energy helping friends maintain their equipment and vehicles and was fond of saying “you can’t weld rust.” Left to cherish his memory is his mother and stepfather, Lottie and Al Nickel, Beverly Hills, Florida; his brothers, Bobby Marhevko and his wife Marcia, Hillman, MI, Johnny Marhevko and his wife Elaine, Hudson, FL, many nieces and nephews and his co-workers at the funeral home. A Funeral Service of Remembrance to celebrate Mark’s life will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory. The family invites friends to join them in visitation from 2:00 until the hour of service. The Langeland Funeral Home will be assisting the family with further services and burial in The Ever-Rest Memorial Park in Kalamazoo, MI.
