Edward Walter Wyka, 84, Inverness died suddenly on Dec 19, 2014 at Citrus Memorial Hospital. Ed was born on July 30, 1930 in Hicksville, NY to the late Henry and Helen (Wilcezwki) Wyka and came to this area in 1972 from Port Jefferson, NY. He owned and operated “Just Cruises”, a cruise and travel company until 2007 in Inverness. He was a long time member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 6391, and served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Margaret “Peggy” (Carbino) Wyka, Inverness; 2 sons, Edward Wyka Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Orlando; Michael H. Wyka and wife Victoria of Floral City; 3 daughters, Dorothy A. Squire and husband Bill of Citrus Springs; Helene Durham and husband Kevin of Inverness; Mary Squire and husband Frank of Inverness; 1 sister, Helen Balchunas, Inverness; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Tuesday, Dec. 23rd , 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Fr. Tim Cummings, celebrant. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Chas E Davis Funeral Home on Monday from 4-7 PM where a Wake Vigil Service will be offered at 6:30 PM.
