Merton R Northrup

MERTON “SONNY” R. NORTHRUP, age 76, Floral City, went to be with his Lord on April 29, 2015 under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus and Nature Coast. Sonny was born on June 6, 1938 in McGraw, NY to the late Harry and Iris (Perkins) Northrup. Sonny proudly served our country for 7 years in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He was a talented mason, who worked in the construction industry building block homes. Sonny enjoyed biking on the nature trails around his home and working in his yard. He was an avid fisherman. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 57 years, Sally Ann Northrup; his son Dale L. (fiancee-Jan Cornelius), Parrish, FL; daughter Tammy Seaman, Clearwater, FL; brothers Lanny Northrup, Hamlin, NY and Wayne Northrup, VA; sisters Pat Hatch Marathon, NY and Estella Holmes, Clifton Park, NY; grandchildren Diana Seaman and Malcolm Seaman, III and great-grandchildren Matthew Nenos and Sophia Maniatis. He was preceded in death by sons Ricky Lynn and George Rollin Northrup; brother Ronald and sister Iris Anderson. A celebration and tribute to Sonny’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Floral City United Methodist Church with Pastor Mary Gestrich officiating.
