Kenneth Peter Godin, LTC, USA, RET., age 70, of Hernando, Florida passed away November 1, 2014 under the care of Hospice of Citrus County, Inverness, Florida. He was born on in Berkeley, CA on November 9, 1943 to the late Henry and Bettie Godin. Kenneth served his country honorably and with distinction in the U.S. Army, serving in various places throughout the world, including Italy. He was the recipient of numerous citations and awards throughout his military career. Some of these include: The Vietnam Service Medal with 4 bronze stars, Republic of Viet Nam Gallantry Cross Citation with Palm, Legion of Merit, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, and the Navy Presidential Unit Citation. Ken was a long time resident in this area, coming from Georgia. He was a Baptist by faith, and enjoyed golfing, reading history books, and loved his cat “Ike”. He is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Gloria Godin. Other survivors include his children, Gretchen D’Andrea and her husband David Worden of Woodstock, CT, Stephen D’Andrea of Inverness, Ralph D’Andrea and his wife Maureen of Australia, and Jennifer Doat and her husband Michel of Belgium; 3 grandchildren. LTC Godin will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at a later date. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, is in charge of arrangements.
