ARMAND R. FREDETTE, age 88, died October 13, 2014 surrounded by his family and under the care of Hospice of Citrus County. Armand was born on May 17, 1926 in New Bedford, MA to the late Edward and Eva (Pimpare) Fredette. He served our country in the United States Navy and then the Army during WWII, the Korean conflict and Vietnam, retiring with a rank of Master Sergeant. He was an avid golfer; loved to travel and root for the Boston Red Sox and Celtics. In earlier years, he wrote sports pages for his local newspaper and was the radio announcer for local high school sports. He was especially a fan of baseball. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 20 years, Helen Fredette; sons Edward Armand Fredette, Ocala and Armand “Buddy” Fredette and his wife Patricia, Fredericksburg, VA; his daughter Jeanine Barbara Fredette, Lorton, VA; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Survivors also include Helen’s family, step-children Paula Pritt, Inverness, Barbara Crook, Floral City, Steven Paul Epperly, Henderson, NC, Connie Sue Harper, Jumping Branch, WV, 9 step-grandchildren, 16 step great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanne Marie Fredette. A Funeral Service of Remembrance and tribute to Armand’s life will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Baptist Church. The family will receive friends in visitation at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Burial will follow with military honors at Florida National Cemetery. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. There will be no calling hours at the funeral home.
