Pauline Odell Sawyer, 79, Inverness, went to her Heavenly Home on August 22, 2014, at Arbor Trail Nursing and Rehab Center. Pauline was born in Inverness, Florida on November 30, 1934, to the late Alvie and Linar (Woods) Nelson. She retired as the Food Service Manager after 32 years of service from Avante At Inverness Nursing Home. She and her husband, Daniel had been members of the First Christian Church of Inverness over 30 years.

She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted husband of 53 years, Daniel W. Sawyer; her daughter, Patricia S. McGuire, Indianapolis, Indiana; three brothers, Alvin (Catherine) Nelson, Dunnellon, Willie “Gates” Nelson and Fred “Moody” Nelson, both of Crystal River; two sisters, Edith Nelson of Inverness and Aquilla Richardson, Ocala; three grandchildren, Myla, Jennifer, and Peggy; four great-grandchildren; four brother-in-laws, Emmitt (Dorothy) Sawyer and Willie (Annie Ruth) Sawyer, both of St Petersburg; Edward Sawyer, Crystal River; Herman Sawyer, Memphis, Tennessee; two sister-in-laws, Wilhelmina Pittman and Norma Williams, both of West Palm Beach; a favorite niece, Ashby Nelson; her god daughter, Nadine (Michael) Redding; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pauline’s life will be celebrated at a Home Going Service at 11a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014, from The First Christian Church of Inverness with Dr. Ray Kelley and others officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery of Inverness. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. at First Christian Church on Friday evening.
