Wanda Klik

Wanda Klik, age 81, of Inverness, FL, passed away on October 30, 2017 at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, Lecanto, FL. Wanda was born in France on January 9, 1936 to the late Edmund and Anna (Szymczak) Wierzba. Her family immigrated to Poland then moved to Belgium before World War II. Her only brother, Edward, passed away last year in Belgium.

As a young woman, Wanda immigrated to the United States where she lived and worked as a cook for private parties in New York City. She later moved to Stamford, CT where she met and married her husband John. They were married for 37 years and never had any children. Both Wanda and John were very active in Polish groups and both enjoyed polka dancing and choirs. They retired to Inverness in 2001 where they remained active with travel, bowling and continued involvement with Polish and German clubs.

It was Wanda’s wish that she be cremated and laid to rest with her husband John at Hills of Rest Cemetery in Floral City, FL. A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Father Claudius Mganga of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church officiating. In lieu of flowers or plants, please consider a donation in Wanda’s memory to St. Jude’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
