Leonard V Schlueter

Leonard V. Schlueter, 69, of Floral City, Florida passed away August 3, 2014 under the care of HPH Hospice, Lecanto, Florida. He was born on May 30, 1945 in Rochester, New York to the late Vincent and Lucille (Miller) Schlueter. Leonard was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran who arrived in this area in 1972, coming from Rochester. He was a corrections officer for Sumter Correctional Institution in Bushnell, FL. and enjoyed collecting toy trains and Coast Guard memorabilia, camping, and traveling. He was preceded in death by one brother, Gregory Schlueter. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Kathleen Schlueter. Other survivors include children Barry (Jerilynn) Schlueter of Moorehaven, FL, and Jennifer Jerrell of Rogers, AR; step-children Scott Davis and Michelle (Wayne) Hayes of Inverness, FL, James Davis and Vern (Barbara) Davis of Floral City, FL; sisters Carol Contestabile and Cindy Mayer of Rochester, NY; step sisters Carol Schmidt of Rochester and Janey Carter of South Carolina; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Private cremation arrangements under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
