Bernard Lawrence Woythaler, 96, of Hernando, Florida, died July 14, 2014, at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast (Inverness). Barney was born to Max and Bertha, Oct. 26, 1917, in New York City. He served in WW II as a staff sergeant in the Army.
He leaves behind his wife of 73 years, Theresa Woythaler; and children, Ralph Woythaler (spouse Barbara) of Palm Beach Gardens, Michael Woythaler (spouse Maria), Baldwin, New York, Lawrence Woythaler (spouse Maria Teresa), Santa Cruz, California, Barney Woythaler Jr. (spouse Stephanie), Hernando, Laura Woythaler Manos (spouse James), Inverness, Theresa Woythaler Godwin (spouse Gary), Inverness, and John Woythaler (spouse, Lindy), Inverness; grandfather of 23 and great-grandfather of 21; loved by numerous nieces and nephews.
Retired from NYC Transit Authority, relocated to Citrus County in 1973. He was a founding member of the Highlands Emergency Shelter and member of Eugene Quinn VFW Post 4337, Inverness.
