Michael A. Gassew, 48, of Inverness, Florida passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness. He was born on May 7, 1966 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was an electrician in the constuction industry. Michael arrived in this area 5 years ago, coming from Philadelphia, was a Catholic by faith, and enjoyed fishing and rebuilding cars. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Gassew. Survivors include his loving mother, Catherine Malcolm; his long time loving companion, Patty McDonald; children Christopher Gassew of Inverness and Tresha Gassew of Atco, New Jersey; brother Bob Gassew; sister Christina Gassew; step-brothers Joseph and Edward Malcolm; step-sisters Cindy and Terry Malcolm; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Private cremation arrangements under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
