Carol Leigh Carpenter, 78, Inverness, died April 24, 2014 in Hospice of Citrus County. A native of Amityville, NY, she was born Aug 19, 1935 to the late Wilson and Grace (Oliver) Graham and came to this area in 1997 from Lake Grove, NY. She was employed as a clerk for the State of New York and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness. She was the former volunteer coordinator for the Citrus Co. Sheriff’s Dept, past treasurer of the Highland’s Surveillance group and volunteer with the Citrus Memorial Hospital Auxillary.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Susan E. Carpenter, Westbrook, CT; her brother, Edwin Graham and wife Helene, of Inverness; 2 Grandsons, Thomas Carpenter and Andrew Yermenson. She was preceded in death by her son, James Carpenter (Feb 1, 2008) and her sister, Ida Graham.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Monday, April 28th, 3:00 PM from Chas E Davis Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Beaverson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to Hospice of Citrus County or the Florida Sheriff’s Boys Ranch.
