ELEANOR KING CASTER, age 93, Floral City died at her home on March 15, 2014. Eleanor was born on July 4, 1920 in New York City to Edna and Arthur King. After graduating from Hunter College of the City of New York, she was employed as a supervisor of foster home care. A lifelong advocate of helping children with disabilities, at the age of 36, she began teaching children with orthopedic handicaps and took 50 hours of education in that field. She relocated to Citrus County in 1978 from Miami after having taught as a special education teacher in Dade County for 20 years. She was a member of the Council for Exceptional Children and Friends of the Floral City Library. She was an enthusiastic member of Caring and Sharing of Citrus County, originally started by Charles and LouEllen Davis of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home. She and her husband enjoyed traveling both in Europe, which they visited five times as well as throughout the United States. She is survived by two sons, Christopher Edwin Caster of Floral City and Timothy Craig Caster of New York City and granddaughter Brenda Caster of Kissimmee. The family invites friends to join them in a celebration of life service for Eleanor at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 3:00 PM.
