Gilbert Alvin Stanage 75, of Inverness, Florida passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Hospice of Citrus County, Lecanto. He was born on October 1, 1938 in Peach Orchard, Arkansas to the late Clyde J. and Esther Mary (Young) Stanage. Gilbert was a self employed tree surgeon, and arrived in this area in 1981, coming from Benton Harbor, Michigan. He attended the First Assembly of God Church in Inverness, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, and bowling. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Janell Stanage. Other survivors include children Ray Stanage of Floral City, Florida, Clyde Stanage of Inverness, Allen (Barbara) Stanage of Floral City, Florida, Sandy (Richard) Biastock of Coloma, Michigan; brothers Jerry and Terry Stanage; sisters Eloise Therot, Janie Brockman, and Carolyn Hurst, 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for Thursday, January 9, 2014, 11:00 AM at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral Home one hour prior to service.
