ROBERT “BOB” EUGENE BAILEY, age 76, Inverness, died April 27, 2015 at Avante at Inverness under the care of Hospice of Citrus and Nature Coast. Bob was born on May 6, 1938 in Muncie, IN to the late Jesse and Ruby (Pugh) Bailey. He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant with over 20 years of service. He then was employed by Phillips Telecom for 9 years. He was an accomplished chef and enjoyed making up his own recipes and was an avid coin collector. Always ready to volunteer and give of his time, he did so at the Ellie Schiller Homosassa Wildlife Park and at the Inverness Courthouse. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Floral City. Left to cherish his memory is his brother, Gary Bailey and niece Denise Worpell, Birmingham, AL; his cousin Sandra and her husband Gene Lee; special friends Diane Grischke and Miles Combs, Fort Wayne, IN and Diane’s grandchildren Tyra, Austin and Brandy Grischke; Robert Schoenauer, Treasure Island, FL; and his favorite waitress and friend, Melanie as well as other cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his loving companion of ten years, Vivian Schoenauer and an Aunt and Uncle, Evelyn and Grady Sharit. The family requests donations to Hospice of Citrus and Nature Coast, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464 in lieu of flowers, that they may continue to give loving and devoted care to others as they did for Bob. A graveside military committal service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 2:30 PM at Florida National Cemetery. Friends are invited to join the procession to the cemetery at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory at 1:45 PM.
