Donald Dodd Harrison, age 85, of Inverness, Florida passed from this life to eternal life with his Lord, Jesus Christ, on September 21, 2013; under the care of Hospice of Citrus County, at Citrus Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 9, 1928, in Laurel, Maryland, to the late James Carroll and Agnes (Wishart) Harrison. Donald served in both the Navy and Air Force. He was a Meterologist for the National Weather Service, and returned to Florida upon retirement in 1983. He was a member of, and a past Elder for, the First Christian Church of Inverness. Donald loved volunteer work, contributing time to the American Red Cross; then 15 years of volunteer service for Citrus Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Charlotte Harrison of Inverness; one brother, James C. Harrison of Eversville, Maryland; 2 nephews, Daniel and John Harrison of Baltimore, Maryland; and one niece, Ruth Ann Weaver of Houston, Mississippi. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 27, 11:00 A.M. at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness with Pastor Ray Kelley, and Dr. David Eubanks officiating. Urn placement to follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida, at a later date.
