MARY LILLIAN NAYLOR, age 73, of Lecanto, Florida passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013 in Inverness. Mary was born September 21, 1939 in Stollings, WV to the late Willie and Amy Miller Fry. She was a coal miner’s daughter and a descendent of Chief Cornstalk of the Shawnee tribe.
Mary was the co-valedictorian of her Logan, WV high school graduating class and attended Marshall University. In 1975, Mary and her family settled in Citrus County where she raised their 3 children and worked for 20 years as a travel agent in Beverly Hills. Mary had an infectious spirit when she entered a room and never met anyone who wasn’t a friend. She loved watching football, traveling and spending time with her family. Mary was the Super Mom, Wife, Grandmother and Friend to so many people. There is a special place in Heaven reserved for people like her but she will be missed by so many here on Earth.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Richard Naylor of Lecanto; two sons, Paul (Nancy) Naylor of Winter Garden, FL, William (Kamilya) Naylor of Titusville, FL, a daughter Debra (Chip) Wright of Beckley, WV and grandchildren Tyler, Jordan, Jared and Madina. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by sixteen brothers and sisters. She often joked that she was the 17th child of her parents, who had 9 children each, hint- she was the only child of the second marriage of her parents.
A celebration tribute of Mary’s life will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home. If family and friends so desire, memorial donations in Mary’s memory may be made to Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464 in lieu of flowers.
