JAMES KENNETH PEACOCK, age 79, Hernando, died September 8, 2013 under the loving care of his daughter, her family and HPH Hospice. Jim was born on November 24, 1933 in St. Petersburg, FL to the late Ira and Lois (Girard) Peacock. He served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict. He was employed by Florida Power for over 37 years as a working foreman. Jim was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of VFW 4252 in Hernando. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter and her family, Stacy, Anthony, Victoria Marie and Kaitlyn Ann Venero, Inverness; sisters Betty (Bernie, Sr.) Gumz, St. Petersburg; Maxine (Larry) Gilmore, Frankfurt, OH, Reba (Larry) DeLauder, St. Petersburg; brother-in-law Jess Knight and family and sister-in-law Pat Peacock and family. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley in 2012 and a brother John Albert in 1992. A graveside military committal service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Florida National Cemetery. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jim’s name to HPH Hospice Foundation, Citrus Office, 3545 N. Lecanto Hwy, Beverly Hills, FL 34465.
