RICHARD L. “MITCH” MITCHELL, age 74, Floral City, died August 23, 2013 at his residence. Richard was born on January 30, 1939 in Tampa to the late Alva and Laura (Cantrel) Mitchell. He was the assistant director and then director of Camp E-Nini-Hassee in Floral City, having touched the lives of many children throughout Florida. Richard was an avid golfer, enjoyed woodworking, being in the outdoors, camping and bird watching. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 44 years, Linda A. Mitchell; son Ethan (Michele) Mitchell, Inverness; daughters Laura Mitchell (Doug Kaufman), Manchester, VT, Margaret Mitchell, Floral City, Mary Cioe (Joe) Homosassa, FL and Lillian Alling (Jason) Inverness; his brother James Mitchell (Charlie), Warner Robbins, GA and grandchildren Kayla, Haley, Victoria, Aubrie, Nicholas and Grayson. A tribute to Richard’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home. The family will greet friends in visitation from 1:00 PM until the hour of service. The family requests donations in Richard’s name to either St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church or Calvary Chapel Food Banks to help with their programs to feed the needy in lieu of flowers.
