Joseph W Woods

Joseph W. Woods, 78, of Inverness, Florida passed away on Friday, June 28, 2013 at Hospice of Citrus County, Inverness. He was born on August 2, 1934 in Frostburg, Maryland to the late Joseph B. and Mary Jane (Dawson) Woods. Joseph was a tire builder, working for Kelly Springfield Tire Company for 28 years, and arrived in this area twenty-five years ago, coming from Gilmore, Maryland. He was a Methodist, and enjoyed dancing, hunting, building cars, and going to car shows. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Steven and Jerry. Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Delores Woods. Other survivors include two sons, George W. (Linda) Woods of Dothan, Alabama, and Eugene (Laura) Woods of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; two daughters, Chris (Jerry) Wellings of Inverness, and Cindy (Buddy) Day of Dothan, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Wendy, Beckie, Donald, Darah, Lauren, Scott and Brandie; and eleven great-grandchildren, Ashley, Joshua, Kaitlyn, Bryce, Brayden, Keagon, Velocity, Brandon, Addison, Caydon, and Gabe. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for Tuesday, July 2, 2013, 4:00 P.M. at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
