VERNON LEE KAISER, age 80, Inverness, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 26, 2013 under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County. Vernon was born on September 28, 1932 in Evansville, IN to the late Victor and Lillian (Lynn) Kaiser. He served our country in the United States Army from 1953-1973, serving in Korea and Vietnam as an Army Ranger, retiring with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was employed by South Florida Water Management District retiring after 26 years. A born again Christian in February 1962, he enjoyed attending gospel quartet sings and loved to golf. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 58 years, Mary Jo Kaiser, Inverness; his son, Kevin A. (Elaine) Kaiser, Floral City, FL; granddaughter Heather (Steve) Fleck; great-granddaughter, Aaliyah; siblings Barbara Ann (Dick) Pate, Dorothy (Gene) Hayden, all of Evansville, IN, William Joseph Kaiser, Panama City Beach, FL. He was preceded by a brother Jerry and a sister, Vicky Sue Mohon. A funeral tribute to Vernon will be held on Monday, July 1, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends in visitation from 9:00 AM until the hour of service. Burial will follow with military honors at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers are requested to Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464.
