Henry N. Langley, 92, of Inverness, FL passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in the care of HPH Hospice in Lecanto after a period of failing health.
Mr. Langley was born in Metuchen, NJ and early in his life moved to Gilmanton, NH. A 1939 graduate of Laconia High School in NH, he continued his education at the University of New Hampshire graduating in 1943 with a degree in electrical engineering. After a short work period with RCA in Camden, NJ, he enlisted in the Navy serving until the end of WWII. After the war he moved with his family to Marlborough, NH where he spent his life until his retirement. Mr. Langley retired after a 35 year career at the former Kingsbury Corporation of Keene, NH ending his working life as Vice President of Engineering.
He was a long time member of Keene Country Club and after moving to Inverness has been a member of Inverness Golf and Country Club since 1984. He enjoyed his golfing retirement for the past 29 plus years, particularly his long time association with the group called “The Nooners”.
Mr. Langley is survived by four sons, Gary and his wife Judith of Winchester, NH; Gerald and his wife Kathy of Green, NY; Roger and his wife Deanna of Inverness, FL; and Bruce and his wife Patsy of Concord, NH. He is also survived by his grandchildren Amy Westerman, Karen Langley, Katelin Langley, Christopher Langley and Michael Langley along with seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Donald of Laconia and Inverness and a myriad of nieces and nephews; as well as his long time family friend, God Daughter and care-giver Barbara Hildreth Brown of Inverness. He was pre-deceased by a son, Peter, his brother Bernard, his wife Grace and his long time companion Alice Hildreth.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Inverness Golf and Country Club on Friday, April 26, 2013, 12:00 PM for friends and family. A NH Memorial will follow later in the summer. Arrangements are under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
