Margaret Teresa Rogers, 83, Inverness, passed away January 28, 2013 under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Citrus County. Mrs Rogers was born in Rochester, NY on June 18, 1929 to the late John and Catherine (O’Connor) Blake and moved to Florida from Delaware. She raised her family in Brentwood, Long Island, NY where she lived for over 25 years. She was a retired Registered Nurse and worked in nearly every different area of nursing. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. Margaret’s passion was her family, her community, and her faith.
Left to mourn her loss are 7 children, Regina Epple of Inverness; Teresa McCarthy of Medford, NY; Christopher McCarthy of Lake Ronkonkoma, NY; Martin McCarthy of Wilmington, Deleware; Jane McFarland of East Islip, NY; Brian Rogers of West Hampton Beach, NY; Colleen Witherell of Glen Mills, PA ; 1 brother, Dennis Blake; 3 Sisters, Eileen Patrizio, Julia Mikos, and Nora Jane Steenson; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by 2 children, Matthew and Margaret McCarthy; 2 loving husbands, Charles J. McCarthy and James J. Rogers; 2 brothers and 2 sisters, Patrick, Thomas, Anna Mae Kelleher, and Kathleen Benison.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Thursday, Jan 31st at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in St Charles Cemetery on Long Island.. Reposing hours are Wednesday from 6-8 PM at Chas E Davis Funeral Home with Wake Vigil Service at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are being accepted by the March of Dimes or Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church..
