George Hammond Jr

George Hammond, Jr. age 87, of Inverness, died March 18, 2013 at his residence with his beloved dog, Angel at his side and under the care of Hospice of Citrus County. George was born on February 6, 1926 in Red Jacket, WV to the late George W. Hammond, Sr. and Elizabeth (Copley) Hammond. He served our country in the United States Navy. George was a bridge builder with the Department of Transportation System in highway construction for the State of Michigan. He was a true patriot who loved his country. Left to cherish his memory is his brother, Everett Hammond, Westland, MI. He was preceded in death by his first wife Virginia in 1986 and his second wife Jean in 2003. Private burial at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory.
