SOPHIE ROSS, age 84, Floral City, died November 15, 2013 at Citrus Memorial Hospital. Sophie was born on January 8, 1929 in Boston, MA, the daughter of the late Alexander and Garifalia Jacovides. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and working crossword puzzles. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Floral City and active in several ministries, including the choir. Left to treasure her memory are her children, Alexander Ross, Floral City; Joe T. Ross, Gale Ross, Hallowell, ME and “Rene” Ross Lutz and husband John, Doylestown, PA; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe in 2010. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 3:00 PM at First United Methodist Church of Floral City. Inurnment will be private at Florida National Cemetery. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
