LISA E. (JONES) MANCUSO
There is another new angel in Heaven today. Lisa Mancuso, 43, passed away surrounded by her loving family at The Hospice House of Citrus County on January 16, 2015. She fought a corageous 39 month battle with a very rare form of cancer called NETS (neuro endocrine tumors.) Lisa was born on January 2, 1972 in Wyandotte, MI, the daughter of Larry and the late Sandra Jones. Lisa graduated from Lecanto High School in 1990, Central FL CC with an AA degree in the Arts. She then went to UCF and finished her degree at Nova University. Lisa then received certification and a degree in Exceptionality Special Education and ESL in 2001. While attending school, Lisa worked full time as a data secretary and then a teaching assistant. Upon her graduation, she was immediately offered her dream job as a full-time teacher at Crest School in Lecanto, FL. Lisa married the love of her life, Michael Mancuso on November 21, 2009. Surviving Lisa is her husband, Michael; her father, Larry Jones and his spouse Diane, one brother, David Jones and his spouse, Michelle, a nephew Darren Jones, a niece Kristen (Taylor) Cody and a grandniece Aubrie Cody, all of Inverness, FL; several aunts, uncles and cousins. She is also survived by her very best friend, Mellannie Forester and in-laws John and Joan Mancuso of NY and FL. A Requiem Eucharist will be held at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church located at 114 N. Osceola Avenue, Inverness, FL on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Lisa’s family would like to thank the staff at The Hospice House of Citrus County and Nature Coast for their warm and loving care; also a huge thank you to Dr. George Daneker and his brilliant team from Cancer Treatment Center in Newnan, GA for giving Lisa these “extra” two years of life; and Dr. James Cleary and his brilliant team from Dana Farber and Brigham and Women’s Hospitals in Boston who worked so diligently trying to find clinical trials appropriate for the treament of NETS cancer and her local oncologist, Dr. William Harrer and his staff for bridging the logistical gap when Lisa needed it.
