I love you Granny. My heart is broken.
You lived a good, long life but that doesn’t make it hurt any less or wish you weren’t still here with us. I spent a lot of my childhood at your house and you helped shape me into the person I’ve become today. I will miss the sound of your voice. I will miss your laughter. I will miss your hugs, your advice, your apple and pear butter, your tomato sandwiches, your stories, your stubbornness/strong headeness. I will miss you so much.

Such a horrific loss!! Most hard-working woman I know! Giving and loving to all around her. Our condolences.

As everyone comments, my mother certainly was one of a kind. As a mother she was also one of a kind. She was so young when we were all small children. She was always willing to play with us. She loved jacks, red light/green light, hopscotch, jump rope and many more. She still loved to play games but now it was Skipbo and she beat us regularly. There were six of us children to care for. She cooked a full meal with home baked bread and desserts every night. We all sat together for our evening meal. I didn’t appreciate it then but I sure do now. The way she displayed her love for you was to fix something delicious to eat. Apple and pear butter, peanut brittle, loquat jam. Everyone had their favorite and she was so happy when she gave it to them. Two days before she passed she made banana nut bread for her neighbor. We’ll all miss that about her. I will always carry her in my heart

Bonnie and I met in high school. Once I went to Bonnie’s house to visit her. She was not home from school yet. Freddie invited me in. She had just baked a loaf of cinnamon bread and gave me a slice. I was taken back by her kindness and hospitality. That never changed in 65 years. You walk in her home, and you were greeted with open arms. You always felt at home. Freddie always had a beautiful heart and smile. She loved her family unconditionally. She fiercely loved her children and grandchildren. She truly was the family Matriarch. She was deeply loved by those that knew her and will be remembered forever. Rest in peace my ‘little loving southern other mother’. I love you. Patti Martin

Thank you, Patti. That was beautiful. You were definitely one of her chosen daughters.

Freddie will be missed but we find comfort in the promise of His 2nd coming to take His children home with Him!
She was one of the first to make us feel welcome when we moved to Florida and transferred our membership to the Hernando SDA church She always had a smile and a hug for us. We loved her apple butter and Conrad especially enjoyed her wonderful desserts at potluck. Freddie did love playing games and we enjoyed playing Phase 10 with Freddie and Mary Anne.
Sleep well until Jesus return and we can all be reunited. No more tears or pain!
