Margaret Anna “Peggy” Wyka, age 83, of Inverness, Florida, entered into paradise on May 30, 2026, surrounded by the love and prayers of her family.
Born on July 11, 1942, in Huntington, New York, Peggy was the cherished daughter of the late Burton and Margaret (Jason) Carbino. She was raised with a strong sense of faith, family, and compassion—values that would guide her throughout her life. In 1973, she and her husband relocated from Port Jefferson, New York, to Citrus County, Florida, where they established deep roots and built a life filled with love, hard work, and service to others.
Peggy shared a beautiful marriage of 52 years with her beloved husband, Edward Wyka. Together they owned and operated a travel agency, helping others experience the joy of exploring the world. While they found fulfillment in their work, Peggy’s greatest vocation was caring for her family and nurturing the relationships that meant so much to her.
A woman of deep and abiding faith, Peggy was a devoted member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church for many years. Her faith was the foundation of her life, providing her with strength, comfort, and purpose. She lived her beliefs not only through prayer and worship but through acts of kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for others. Whether offering a listening ear, preparing a family gathering, or quietly helping someone in need, Peggy reflected Christ’s love in countless ways.
Above all else, Peggy treasured her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose gentle spirit and loving heart touched generations. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, and her presence brought comfort, laughter, and encouragement to those fortunate enough to know her. The lessons she imparted through her example—faith, perseverance, humility, and unconditional love—will remain a lasting legacy for her family.
She leaves behind her loving children: Dorothy Squire and her husband, Bill, of Citrus Springs; Helene Durham and her husband, Kevin, of Inverness; Mary Mennella and her husband, Michael, of Inverness; Edward Wyka Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth, of Orlando; Michael Wyka and his wife, Victoria, of Floral City. She is also survived by her brothers, Bruce Carbino and Burton Carbino Jr.; 13 beloved grandchildren; many cherished great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Peggy was welcomed into Heaven by her beloved husband, Edward; her parents, Burton and Margaret Carbino; her brothers, Robert Mayer, Craig, Anthony, and Wayne Carbino; and her sister, Betty Reynolds.
A Celebration of Peggy’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home Inverness. Interment at Florida National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
Her life was a testament to faith, devotion, and selfless love. The light she shared, the faith she lived, and the love she gave so freely will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

So very sorry to learn of your Mom’s passing. I fondly remember activities @OLF and the gatherings at your parents home and Patty and you being in the choir together. May God wrap his arms around you during this difficult time.
