Kristine Anne Basa “Kay” Torcuator

Kristine Anne Basa Torcuator, affectionately known as “Kay,” passed away on May 5, 2026, at HCA Florida Citrus Hospital and went home to be with the Lord. She was 36 years young.

Born in Manila, Philippines, Kay moved to California in 1992, at the age of three, to be with her Mom, Anna, in Orange County. CA. Alongside her grandmother, uncles, and aunt, she built cherished memories, then relocated to Florida in 1999 with her Mother, Citrus County became the place Kay proudly called home.

Kay was a proud graduate of Lecanto High School, Class of 2007. She went on to pursue higher education at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Entertainment Business and later attaining her Master of Science Degree in Public Relations in 2017. A gifted and creative professional, Kay founded her own company, K & A Media Consulting, where she combined her brilliance in graphic design with her passion for marketing and helping others succeed.

Throughout her career, Kay worked in various fields including hospitality, retail, freelance graphic design, and media consulting. Her creativity, professionalism, and dedication left a lasting impression on colleagues, clients, and friends alike.

Kay and her mother, Anna, were deeply involved in the Citrus County community for many years. Kay proudly served on the Board of Directors for Inverness Business Leaders from 2020 to 2022 and was an active member of Citrus County Continuity of Care and the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce. She devoted countless hours volunteering at local festivals, and supporting numerous nonprofit organizations and community events. Kay especially had a heart for the homeless and often expressed her belief that “no one should be without a home.” Her compassion, generosity, and servant’s heart touched many lives.

Kay was preceded in death by her grandfather, Atty. Jose T. Torcuator; grandmother, Herminia B. Torcuator; uncles, Jose Mario B. Torcuator and Jose Antonio B. Torcuator, whom she lovingly looked to as father figures; and aunts, Dr. Herminia G. Gozar and Enriqueta G. Nable.

Those left to cherish Kay’s memory include her loving mother, Anna Torcuator of Citrus Hills, Florida; her aunts, Mary Ann Torcuator of Tallahassee, Florida, and Gilda Torcuator of Riverside, California; her cousins, Brian Torcuator of Tallahassee, Florida, and Jomar Torcuator of Riverside, California; along with many beloved relatives and friends throughout the Philippines, Canada, and across the United States.

A Celebration of Life honoring Kay will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026, at the College of Central Florida, Wilton Simpson Citrus Campus, located at 3800 S. Lecanto Highway, Lecanto, Florida 34461, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Family and friends will be received from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, with the Celebration of Life service immediately following.
