Esther Ramirez George, age 84 of Lecanto passed away May 5, 2026 in the Compass Rose of Lecanto Nursing Home.
Esther was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on February 16, 1942 to the late Eladio Ramirez and Consuelo Santos Olivo and came to this area from Carolina, P.R. in May 1993. She was a retired florist, having owned and operated a flower shop in San Juan. She was of the Catholic Faith and in earlier years, attended Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Beverly Hills and was also a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
Left to cherish her memory are 2 children: Luis Mario George, Jr and wife Gloria of Citrus Springs; Esther Milagro George-Carreras and husband Steve of Ocala; 5 grandchildren; Carmen, Alejandro, Jorge, Antonio, and Wanda. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Jose, Hector, Carlos, and Luis Ramirez.
There is a Celebration of Life Memorial Service scheduled at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home of Inverness on Saturday, May 23rd at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. Jose Diaz officiating. Following services, her remains will be scattered at a later date.
