Horace Edmon Oglesbee

Horace Edmon Oglesbee, 78, of Inverness, died at Avante of Inverness on Friday, May 1, 2026. Born in Glennville, Georgia, one of nine children, he was the son of the late Charles Perry and Marie (Harrelson) Oglesbee.

Horace came to the area from Tarboro, NC sixteen years ago. He worked as a security guard for Empire Toys in Tarboro. Horace enjoyed racing his homing pigeons and bass fishing. Baptist by faith, he had a life full of family, love and meaningful connections.

In addition to his parents, Horace was preceded in death by his brothers; Perry and James and his sisters; Beatrice Brown and Aletha. 

Left to cherish his memory are his four sons; James of Citrus Springs, FL, Brian of Washington, NC, Brandon of Crystal River, FL and Joshua of Citrus Springs, FL; brothers, Larry and Fred; sisters, Lela and Lee; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren

Private cremation arrangements under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home.
