Kay Lisette Roddenberry, age 74, of Floral City, Florida, passed away on April 18, 2026, at South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, New York. Kay was born in Brooksville, Florida, on September 20, 1951, to the late Louis Giddens, Sr. and Mildred McGuire Giddens, and lived in Citrus County her entire life. She was a retired Registered Nurse and worked for over 20 years at Brooksville Regional Hospital. She attended Indian Hill Baptist Church.
Kay enjoyed the beach, gardening, crocheting, church activities, spending time outdoors, going on cruises, and vacationing in the mountains. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 56 years, Ronald Roddenberry; her children, Scott Roddenberry and his wife Lynsie of Inverness, and Sabrina Roddenberry; her brothers, John Giddens and wife Patricia of Floral City, and Michael Giddens, Sr. and wife Angela of Beverly Hills; her sisters, Faye Sherman and husband Alan of Floral City, and Laurie Jarrett of Inverness; her grandchildren, Christian, Cayleigh, Trentyn, Blakely, Mason, Camdyn, and Annistyn; and her great-grandchildren, Avery and Alena. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Roddenberry, and her brother, Louis Giddens, Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home of Inverness, with Pastors Nick McLean and Jeff Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery in Istachatta. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the hour of service.
