Where Planning Is A Gift That Lives On
Matthew LeRoy Marston

Matthew LeRoy Marston

Matthew LeRoy Marston, age 65 of Inverness, FL passed away March 25, 2026 in his home under the loving care of his family. He is survived by his super-mega-foxy-awesome-hot wife Jennifer, and his four incredibly good looking and talented children, Derek, Taylor, Hartley, and Dallin, as well as his six grandchildren who were his pride and joy.

Matt was born in Chula Vista, CA in 1960 to the late Mooney and Charlie Marston. He was the baby of the family and everyone knew he was the favorite. His later career as an intensive care unit nurse and his wife’s love of the beach brought them to Inverness Florida.

Before becoming an ICU nurse, Matt spent years managing various businesses and restaurants. In his forties, he decided to change his career and pursue nursing. That career change not only became foundational inspiration in his kids’ lives, but it positively affected the lives of his patients and fellow hospital staff over the years. He shared his dry and morbid humor at work and at the dinner table, and taught his kids that they never have to stick to one thing, they can grow and change at any point in life. He also created the tradition of talking about poop and death during dinner time.

Matt was a loving husband and father, and overflowed with so much compassion it left no room for patience. He was an avid gardener who took pride in making sure his yard was the prettiest on the block. He was the greatest teacher of cooking, cleaning to his borderline OCD standards, fashion, music, and road rage. He absolutely adored his dogs, and spoiled them rotten. He was a great listener, and while his resting bitch face was top tier, his soul was as squishy as a marshmallow.

At Matt’s request, he preferred to be cremated so he could claim to be smokin’ hot one last time. He also requested that we play the song “Another One Bites the Dust” by Queen in remembrance of him. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home With Crematory

Matt also thought that should have been the song that plated when the doors opened to the ICU 😉 One of the best co-workers ever.

Oh Max res easy. You’re in the arm to Jesus now no more pain no more suffering. I truly enjoyed working with you when I floated to ICU you were a ball of laughs. God bless your family May they find peace and comfort in the arms of God during this trying time. Now go get your angel wings and fly high.

Matt, a joy to work with in ICU for years. Matt also on a personal level cared for my Dad before he died and was the best! Matt enjoyed bragging about Jennifer’s cakes—and I ordered many! What a lovely person and RIP friend! Kelley Obringer

Oh Jennifer, my long time, Bestie and partner in crime during high school school. I love you so much and my heart aches for you. I loved your husband. He was such a great guy and I always wanted a marriage and love like yours. My heart and my prayers are with you and your family as you go through this hard time. And yes, he gets to leave this world still being smoking hot

I am grieving and rejoicing with you all. You Marstons are an incredibly important part of our family as, years ago, caretakers for our daughter, Suzannah. Perhaps you know that Bill passed on last October. So I understand your loss, but also, your rejoicing. Suzannah and I love you all. (Also, the obituary was fantastic!)

So sorry to hear this about Matt. He and I opened a few restaurants together and always had a great time. His sense of humor and his work ethic were unmatched. His obituary made me burst out laughting. It was so him. He loved his family and you more than anything in the world. Fly high my friend. You were a true Angel.

I remember Matt as a hard worker, optimistic, joyful and fun guy. Admired his willingness to sacrifice and do new things to provide for his family. Glad he ultimately found the career that brought him joy and purpose that blessed and comforted others.
I am sure he loved his family and that it brought him joy and comfort .
I always enjoyed seeing Jennifer’s and Matt’s pictures as they enjoyed canoeing, walking, etc together. May your memories and the peace of the Savior provide you comfort.
