Madeleine “Maddy” Rossignol Gendron

April 13, 1938 – March 20, 2026

Madeleine “Maddy” Rossignol Gendron, 87, of Inverness, Florida, formerly of Lewiston, Maine, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, under the care of Hospice and surrounded by her family.

Born in Van Buren, Maine, on April 13, 1938, she was the youngest of thirteen children of Wilfred and Emeley (Beaulieu) Rossignol. She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers Willard, Maurille, Roland, and Clarence; her sisters Lucy Cyr, Irene Lizotte, Lorreta Fortin, Gertrude Tardif, Ann Lecompte, Jeanette LeBlanc, and Theresina Rossignol; and her beloved husband, P. Maurice “Moe” Gendron.

Maddy married her high school sweetheart, Maurice, and together they built a life centered on family, faith, and hard work. They founded and built Merit Pools, a family business that continues into its 53rd year. She was known for her warmth, hospitality, and ability to bring people together. Her home was always open, and her gatherings — especially the well-known Gendron family parties — created lasting memories for generations. She was especially fond of dancing, and family members often recall her joyful spirit on the dance floor, accompanied by the familiar chant, “Go Go Maddy, GO GO GO!”

She is survived by her five children: Christine (Chris-Tina) Dudley of Inverness, Florida, with daughters Emily and Anna; Timothy (Timo) Gendron and his wife Carolyn of Hollis, Maine, with children Catlin and Jordan; Rene Gendron of Inverness, Florida, with sons Kristopher and Shane; Sonia Damon of Saco, Maine, with sons Alex, Nathan, Jake, and Maurice; and Darrin Gendron and his wife Angie of Rocky, Virginia, with children Samantha, Ariel, and Heather.

She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Her joy extended to the Gendron family, including her beloved sisters-in-law, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, with whom she shared decades of love, laughter, and life’s milestones.

Funeral services are currently being planned. Burial will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Lewiston, Maine. Cremation has taken place at Davis Funeral Home in Inverness, Florida. Services in both Maine and Florida are in the planning stages.

She will be remembered for her laughter, her love of family, and the joy she brought to every gathering.  The Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
