Douglas Paul “Doug” Robinett

Douglas Paul “Doug” Robinett, of Inverness, passed away suddenly on Friday, March 6, 2026 at HCA Florida Citrus Hospital. He was 54 years of age. Doug was born in Cheverly, Maryland to John Douglas and Kathy (Raimondi) Robinett, and he was an only child. He moved to Florida when in 1983, when he was about 12 years old.

Doug worked in construction most of his adult life, however he had to switch gears because of his health. He bought a pizza restaurant, and truly enjoyed operating that for about 3 years. He was an excellent cook and amateur chef, and he displayed his cooking talents not only at home but in his pizza shop as well.

Doug met, and later married, Sherry, who was the love of his life. He eventually retired due to his health, but he still liked to stay busy. Doug enjoyed fishing, smoking really good cigars, rocking in his rocking chair, and riding his jeep out on the trails. He also had a wicked sense of humor, and was quick-witted. You could never outdo his remarks and comebacks.

Doug is survived by his loving wife Sherry Robinett of Inverness; his mom Kathy Hill and his son and daughter-in-law Logan and Kady Robinett, all of Dade City; his three step-daughters Stephanie Emeott and her husband Wade, Sabrina Dickey, and Crystal Dickey and her fiance’ Caleb, all of Savannah, GA; his dad John Robinett; and his five grandchildren, and one on the way. Arrangements are in the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Cremation Care.
