Derrick Deion “DJ” Hubbard, Jr.

Derrick Deion Hubbard, Jr., most people knew him as “DJ”, was born on December 30th, 2011 in Inverness, Fl. He was an 8th grader at Inverness Middle School. Derrick gained his wings on January 11th, 2026 at the age of 14.

Derrick wasn’t just somebody he was everything. He was a son who meant the world to his family. He was a big brother who always looked out for his siblings. He was a grandson and a nephew. Derrick would enter a room and it would light up with that smile. He cared about others and always wanted to make sure you were okay and didn’t care what others thought about him. Derrick was an athlete, Boy Scout, artist, actor, and proud member of the church. He loved being outside and was always adventurous. He just got picked for the basketball team at school and was so excited. His favorite player was Steph Curry and his jersey number was #10. He was so smart and A/B honor student.

Derrick leaves behind his parents Destiny Rogers and Derrick Hubbard : his stepdad Montara Johnson : 2 brothers, his twin that passed before birth, and his brother Derrick Hubbard, III:  9 sisters Jazlynn Hubbard, Khaleah Johnson , Gracelynn Johnson, Audrey Johnson , Daviunna Baker, Skiler Baker, Ashton Hubbard , D’Ericka Hubbard, Safari Hubbard: Grandparents Regina Glass, Ricky Kress , Deborah Edwards and Irvin Edwards : Great Grandpa Dennis Berger : 2 aunts Sharaina Rogers and Deborah Hubbard and 1 uncle Robert Hubbard and a lot more family and friends that loved his whole life.

Forever 14, he lived an extremely amazing life and he did it with his best-friend George Watts always by his side; a friendship that was the purest and truest from diapers to forever on. His legacy will forever live and he will forever be missed and loved so much. We will always say his name out loud and always see that big beautiful smile.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Cornerstone Baptist Church, with Pastor Darrell Reneau officiating. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home With Crematory, Inverness, FL.
