Raphael “Ralph” Carlo Lucchesi, Jr. age 81, of Inverness, died at HCA Citrus Hospital on November 18, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born June 21, 1944 in Woonsocket, RI, he was the son of the late Raphael C. and Frances Donnelly Lucchesi.
Ralph was Catholic by faith. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war. He went on to a career as a truck driver transporting large above ground tanks.
Ralph also known as “Sonny” to his friends and family up north, relocated to Citrus County 30 years ago after residing in both Rhode Island. He and his beloved wife of 53 years, Sandra fully embraced their Florida retirement enjoying leisure time with family and friends. Ralph enjoyed his outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing and he just loved watching the birds.
Ralph had a real talent for making interesting things out of leftover parts or anything he could put together. A true “Industrial Artist” he would spend time in his workshop (well-equipped by Craftsman) producing some truly remarkable pieces.
In addition to his wife, Sandra, Ralph leaves Carl Turcotte and his wife Bonnie, who are his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, and shared a special bond with Ralph. He also leaves his other in laws Emile and Jocelyn Turcotte of Rhode Island; his sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Norman Doura of Rhode Island; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who were special to him. He was preceded in death by his brother, Alfred Lucchesi, Sr. and his sister, Patricia Pero.
A memorial service for Ralph will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM with military honors being rendered by the VFW at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the start of the service.
