Dolores Ann Venero, age 80, Inverness, FL entered her Heavenly Home on November 16, 2025 under the loving care of her family and HPH Hospice.
Dolores was born in Inverness, Fl, the daughter of the late Clarence and Lillie (Milton) Stokes on December 14, 1944. She grew up in Citrus County, attending local elementary, middle, and Citrus High School. Her parents were one of the early families in Citrus County and one of the original founders of Ft. Cooper Baptist Church in 1952. Well grounded in church doctrine and fundamental Baptist beliefs, she was recruited to play the piano for worship services when she was just 8 years old. She continued to serve Fort Cooper Baptist in that capacity for many years even after she was married.
Dolores worked hard during her adult years. She and her husband Tony worked side by side running their businesses, Citrus Marine Center and Venero Snapper Lawn Mowers. She also was a wonderful homemaker, outstanding cook, and crafter. Her extraordinary talents included crocheting, knitting, sewing, and other types of crafting. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and working around her house and yard.
Her beloved husband of 59 years Anthony “Tony” Venero preceded her to Heaven on December 1, 2023. Left to cherish her memory are 2 children, Anthony Venero, Jr. of Inverness, Angela Venero of Ocala, and 1 sister, Barbara Rodgers of Inverness. Her grandchildren include Allen and Jeff Clifton and 1 great grand, Layla Clifton.
There is a Celebration of Life scheduled for Sunday, November 23, 2025 at 3:00 PM from the Fort Cooper Baptist Church Pastors Marne Palmani and Francisco Garcia officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Inverness. Friends may fellowship with the family from 2:00 PM on Sunday until the hour of service.
