Where Planning Is A Gift That Lives On
Salvatore Foglio, Jr.

Salvatore Foglio, Jr.

Salvatore Foglio, Jr., 75, of Floral City, FL, passed away on November 10, 2025 surrounded by love at the Vitas Hospice House in Lecanto.

Sal was born on July 27, 1950 in Newark, NJ to Salvatore and Julia (Priore) Foglio. He made Florida his home in 1972 after moving from New Jersey to  Pinellas County FL, and then to Floral City, building a life filled with hard work, family, and simple joys. For many years he owned and operated a flooring company and after that he owned and operated an Italian Deli, earning the respect of those he worked with and served.

Those who knew Sal knew his heart.  He loved music, especially the Grateful Dead. Throughout his life, Sal shared his home with many dogs, the last love of his life, Ebony, each one a treasured companion. His loving spirit made him a wonderful neighbor and a friend to so many, along with his neighbor Tom, who the both of them were inseparable. People were drawn to his warmth, kindness, and the way he made everyone feel welcome. He was an Animal lover and loved bringing carrots to the Horses down the street from where he lived.

Sal leaves behind a large, loving family of nieces and nephews who meant the world to him, including Cheryl Puccini and family; Wendy Davis and family; Cindi Ann and family; Adam and family; Ryan; Tabatha and family; Shane and family; Ian; Shawn; Danielle; Robert; Jerry; Georgann; Denise, and Vinnie, Jr.  Sal also leaves behind many grand nieces and nephews.

We have had many Get Togethers in the last couple of years and made many Memories of which we are so thankful for including the last Get-Together at Doc Ford’s in St. Petersburg.

To honor Sal’s memory, we invite others to do the things he loved most: *Be kind to family and friends…keep them close to your heart:* Put on a Grateful Dead song and dance; *Love your pets and other animals with your whole heart.

Sal’s warmth, laughter, and the love he shared will forever live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him.

“Be the change you wish to see in the world.”                                                                                          Mahatma Gandhi
