Vicki S. Evans, age 82, of Beverly Hills, FL, died October 15, 2025 under the care of VITAS Hospice in Lecanto, FL. Born in Trenton, MO on August 30, 1943, she was the daughter of late William Russell and Willa E. (Root) Runk.
Vicki started school in a one room school house in Grundy County, Missouri; she remembered her teacher, Ms. Nadine. Her family moved from Missouri to Miami in 1956. Vicki attended West Miami High School in Westchester, FL and graduated from Southwest Miami Senior High in 1961. She also became a cosmetologist studying at the Empire Beauty School in downtown Miami.
Vicki described herself as “An Adventurist with an Inquisitive Spirit.” Formerly of Miami-Dade, Vicki came to Citrus County in 2022.
Vicki’s education at Miami-Dade College included multiple criminology, investigation and behavioral science classes. She mastered Voice Stress Analysis (VSA) to become a certified examiner, a credential that required extensive training and recertification. She also took classes at University of Miami and Clayton State University in Morrow, GA.
Vicki volunteered her time to become a Citizen Archivist. She was tasked with reading various documents hand written in cursive and transcribing them for the National Archives. This is done to make historical records more accessible and searchable for everyone.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Johnathan Evans; and her sisters, Joy Streicher, Connie Shaw and Jackie Roddy. In addition to her parents, Vicki was preceded in death by her son, Charles Noel Evans, III.
