Adele A. Wardrop

Born on June 15, 1934, Adele A. Wardrop passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025, at the age of 91 in Inverness, FL. A beacon of kindness and dedication, Adele was deeply involved in her community and church. She spent many years as the educational director and Sunday school teacher at First Presbyterian Church, where she also served as a deacon.

Adele was a loving mother and grandmother, whose caring nature extended beyond her family to all those she encountered. She was an active member of the Inverness Woman’s Club and enjoyed hobbies such as scrapbooking, arts and crafts, cooking, baking, and she had a special love for cats.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication to her daughter Kathleen Thomas, grandchildren Cory Thomas, Marlene Vitale, and Adele Stapinski, and six great- grandchildren. Adele was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wardrop, her son Bobby Wardrop, her daughter Stephanie Stapinski, and her grandson Stanley Stapinski.

A Celebration of Life for Adele is scheduled for Friday, September 12, 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church in Inverness. The family will be receiving friends in visitation at the church one hour prior to service. Her urn will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at a later date. Her life and contributions will be remembered fondly by all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed. Chas. E. Davis with Crematory, Inverness is in charge of arrangements.

    I’m so sorry to see that Adele has passed. I send my condolences to her family. I would be there but unfortunately I’m getting ready for my move to Sicily in just over a week. Please accept my apologies.
