George Abram Tooke, Jr., 79, of Tarrytown, Georgia, passed away in the comfort of his childhood home in Floral City, Florida July 4, 2025 under the loving care of his family and HPH Hospice. He was born in Brooksville, Florida, on October 19, 1945, to the late George Tooke and Eva Ray(Leon) Griner.He proudly served our country in the US Navy. He was a volunteer fireman and first respondersince the age of 17. He was a retired mechanic, electrician and truck driver. He had a kind and
gentle soul and would help anyone. He was a loving father, brother, papa, uncle and friend. He was happiest in a fire truck or in his boat.
George is survived by 4 children. Jorje “Eric” Tooke of Lexington, KY.; Cassandra; Christopher(Leticia) Tooke of Tarrytown, GA.; Tabitha (Guy) Collins of Vidalia, GA.; his sister, Amanda(Gene) Mullen of Floral City, FL.; his niece, Teresa Johns of Floral City, FL.; his nephew, Josh(Katie) Mullen of Burien, WA.; grandchildren, several great grandchildren; and 3 great nieces .George was preceded in death by his father, George Tooke; his mother, Eva Ray Griner; his
step father, Leon Griner; his sisters, Joyce Walker and Phyllis King; and his great nephew, Greg Johns.
The Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory of Inverness, Florida is assisting the family with cremation .A memorial service will be held in Vidalia, Georgia at a later specified date
